The former North Western and Mersey Deaneries are integrating and have become Health Education England working across the North West.
We are giving candidates the opportunity to apply to HEE working across the North West as one Unit of Application (UoA) which gives them a fantastic choice of GP Specialty Training Programmes across the north west.
We can offer programmes in vibrant, busy cities; quiet rural areas; the hustle and bustle of seaside resorts – truly something for everyone.
We will have 3 ‘academies’ across HEE working across the North West – Mersey (form Southport through Liverpool across to the Wirral & into Cheshire), North (including Blackpool, Preston and Lancaster into the Lake District) and South (the cities of Manchester and Salford and surrounding towns each with its own distinctive character).
We delivered the first formal extended training pilot, the first lead employer arrangement for GPSTs and pride ourselves on being at the forefront of training. Each locality GPST programme is distinctive in the range of posts offered and delivery of structured release teaching programmes. The majority of our ‘graduates’ stay in the north west as independent practitioners as there are interesting and challenging opportunities for partnership, salaried posts and locum work in all areas.
We are still operating two websites under the ‘deanery’ names so please follow the links below to find out more information about specific programmes.
So come to HEE working across the North West – Developing People for Health and Healthcare
