Health Education England working across the East Midlands

DID YOU KNOW... every trainee who is accepted on the programme in this region, is offered 20 months experience in general practice? As the rest of the programme is made up of 4 different specialities, you'll receive a comprehensive and wide ranging educational package of training. But this is only one of the many reasons why you should consider moving here.

This area of the country is a fantastic place to train, work and live and has everything from vibrant multicultural cities to rolling English countryside. Our smaller towns offer the chance to work in ground breaking, integrated, forward looking primary care services. Our high training standards enable you to develop an understanding of the role of the GP as an important member of the local community.

Excellent family friendly facilities, including top class schools, reasonable house prices and good transport links make this the ideal place to develop your primary care career.

There are excellent sporting and leisure facilities including Leicester City Football, Premiership Rugby at Northampton and Leicester, the National Water Sports Centre in Nottingham and National Space Centre in Leicester. In you prefer, there are walking and climbing opportunities in the Peak District, or the chance for a more leisurely stroll along a beach in Lincolnshire.

Take the opportunity to include academic GP training, both in teaching and research. Placements in ST2 can help you develop expertise in leadership, innovation or a specific clinical area. Or if working overseas appeals, we offer 12 months between ST2 and ST3 in a resource poor rural South African or Ugandan community as part of a four-year global health and GP training programme. We are currently offering the chance to do a Fellowship at the end of training, again giving you an opportunity to kick-start your life in primary care.

Please look at the information provided on our website, feel free to contact the scheme managers or any member of the recruitment team for further details.
